evening. The Assistant Superintendent of Police, Kowloon, was
instructed by the Commissioner of Police that in event of evacuation from Kowloon taking place he, the Assistant Superintendent of Police, was to remain until satisfied that all European Čivilians had evacuated Kowloon. This was an amendment to the instructions laid down in the Evacuation Scheme under the Internal Security Scheme which had provided that only certain categories of the public, including Europeans, would be allowed to cross the harbour, passes being issued to them for this purpose. About twenty armed men were rounded up by Police in the district.
